Government across the globe are grappling with the thought on how to simplify citizen services, make it accessible and available in a uniform fashion to all citizens. Servicing citizens (for their basic necessities) in an unbiased and un-preferential manner irrespective of their religion, caste, creed, gender or social status is mandated by most constitutions across the globe. With the advent of social media, instant messaging and communication platforms governments are eager to communicate with more alacrity with their citizens. These are communications which are informational in nature and will serve a certain purpose of keeping the citizens abreast with what is happening, but will not facilitate them to avail governmental services which would require more actionable (transactional) communication. More recent innovations (actionable or structured messaging) in the instant messaging platforms can help governments render services to their citizens in a more ubiquitous manner.
